THE LOW DOWN
Ra·con·teur, noun: Someone who is good at telling stories
WHO’S THIS GUY?
When your eyes slide across the letters on a page, there needs to be a rhythm – the pupils should traipse across each sentence, digesting the confluence of scheme and purpose.
No matter the outlet, the source or the vehicle, writing should make you feel something:
- Informed
- Entertained
- Disgusted
- Educated
- Elated
Or maybe, writing just challenges how you feel about a product, a purpose or a person. Words on a page give us gravity, even though we may overlook their purpose; we cherish their capability like the gospel. There aren’t many universal truths out there, but one thing: words have power.
We spin stories, whisper secrets, inflate egos and crash down dreams with words. We love when words dazzle us without thinking about their meaning. We rebel against the status quo, but we demand answers and documentation of successes and failures. The search is continual, but it’s romantic, even in its worst shades.
I write not because I want to, I write because I cannot function without exploring every nuance, every crook, crevice of the power of the sonic depth of words.
Writing is my life.

TESTIMONIALS
Toby McCasker Hysteria managing ed/AM entertainment ed/VICE kid
“Robert Dean is that invaluable hybrid of articulation and discontent. If we were living in a good novel written by a bad man, I would say he is too weird to live, too rare to die. He has made the transition from being a writer’s writer to being a bitchin’ ass writer full-stop, which is not a chasm easily leapt. Most writers fall in. They lack the courage to turn a microscope onto the self-important folly they peddle as communication. Robert Dean’s words are not folly. ‘Scarily resonant’ is more like it.”
Marc Juneau CEO – Nola Graphics
Providing Nola Graphics with a strong work ethic, and ability to always stay on top of his projects, Robert is one of our most valued staff. Hard working, and one of our most dependable creatives, we never have to second guess, or ask him twice about any project, big or small. When I need someone in 15 minutes, Robert Dean will be there in 10, as a CEO, that kind of dependability is crucial.
Eddie Padin Publisher – Michiana Entertainer
Robert Dean’s contributions have provided our publication a raw and
uninhibited voice to project to our readers. His savvy style and ability to convey real world imagery in a literary format has proven a demand amongst are readership for more of his work. Coupled with his strong work ethic, passion for his craft and disciplined adherence to deadlines; Mr.
Dean can be described as nothing less than a valuable asset to our company.
Judge Graham President SQ1 Marketing
It’s a sad day for New Orleans, but a bright one for Austin. One of the best writers in the Crescent City is packing up his stuff and headed for the Lone Star State. Reliable, and always creative, a top notch writer and never one to phone it in, Robert Dean is a class act with a lot to offer.
